Pre 1173Roger de Clare, Earl of Hertford died. Manor detached from crown prior to this. He gave Towcester Mill to the Knights Templars (Baker p.312). Succeeded to Title in 1152.
11701170-1200 A late Norman `Transitional' church laid and is the basis of the plan of the present St. Lawrence's church
