In the Name of God Amen The nine and Twentith of Aprill in the year of Our Lord God (Accordinge to the Accompt now Used in England) One Thousand Six hundred ffifty nyne. I Robert Travell of Castlethrupp in the County of Bucks Yeoman weake in body But of sound and perfect memory (Praised bee God for the same.) And knoweinge the uncertainety of this life; And beinge desirous to Settle things in Order Have made Constituted and ordained And by those present also firmely make constitute and Ordaine This my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge And first of all I Give and Commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator who made it: in Assured and Certaine hope of a joyful resurrection through the merits pretions death and passion of our blessed Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus Who Redeemed mee and all mankinde: And my body to the Earth from whents it came; To bee buried at the discretion of my Executrix heretofore named in these presents: And for such worldly estate which it hath pleased God in his mercy for to bestow upon mee; My will true intent and meaninge is That it shall bee Ordered and disposed of as hereafter in this my last Will and Testament is Exprest mentioned specified and declared. First I Revoke all wills by mee formerly made And doe hereby declare them to bee null and void frustrate and of none efftect in the House To all intents and purposes whatsoever As if the same had never beene had nor made And doe publish and declare this to bee my last Will and Testament And allsoe I Give and bequeath unto my Eldest son Thomas Travell The sume of one hundred pounds of Lawful money of England To bee paid into the hands of my lovinge Brother in lawes Thomas Earle and William Earle of Hansloppe in the County of Bucks Aforesaid yeoman by my Executrix hereafter named in those presents Within the space of one whole yeare after my decease; And to bee sett forth by the said Thomas and William Earle for the use and maintenance of my said Son Thomas Travell until hee shall Accomplish the full age of one and Twenty yeares And then to bee paid unto him the said Thomas Travell my said Son by the said Thomas and William Earle his uncles their Executors administrators or Assignes. And after I Give and Bequeath unto my said Eldest Son Thomas Travell the summe of One hundred pounds more of Lawfull money of England to bee paid into the hands of the said Thomas and William Earle by my Executrix hereafter named in these presents within the space of foure yeares after my decease And to bee Sett forth by the said Thomas and William Earle for the use and Maytenance of my said son Thomas Travell until hee shall Accomplish the full age of one and Twenty yeares And then to bee paid unto him the said Thomas Travell my son by the said Thomas and William Earle his uncles their Executors administrators or Assignes. And allsoe I Give and bequeath unto my youngest Son John Travell the sume of One hundred pounds of Lawful money of England To Bee paid into the hands of the said Thomas and William Earle by my Executrix hereafter named in these present within the space of one yeare after my decease And to bee sett forth by the said Thomas and William Earle for the use and maytenance of my said Son John Travell untill hee shall Accomplish the full age of one and Twenty yeares And then to bee paid to him the said John Travell my said Son by the said Thomas and William Earle his uncles their Executors administrators or Assignes. And also I Give and bequeath unto my youngest son John Travell the summe of one hundred pounds more of Lawfull money of England To bee paid into the hands of the said Thomas and William Earle by my Executrix hereafter named in these presents within the space of foure yeares next after my decease And to bee Sett forth by the said Thomas and William Earle for the use and maytenance of my said son John Travell by the said Thomas and William Earle their Executors administrators and Assignes. And allsoe my will true intent and meaning is that if eyther my son Thomas or my son John Travell Shall happen to dye before they shall Accomplish the Age of one and Twenty yeares then the sume and sumes of money and Legacie hereby given and bequeathed unto him by virtue of this my last Will and Testament shall come continue and remaine and bee to the survivour or longer liver of eyther of them their Executors Administrators or Assignes; And allsoe my Will true and meaneinge is That if my Executrix hereafter named shall have a desire and intent to have the keepeinge of my two sons Thomas and John Travell Duringe their minority Then I give and Allow her Consideration thereof the Just sume or yearely rent of Twelve pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid to my said Executrix every halfe yeare by the said Thomas and William Earle their Executors administrators and Assigns untill full tyme and terme that the said Thomas and John Travell shall Attaine the age of one and Twenty (the twelve pounds to be paid to my Executrix her Executors administrators or Assignes by the said Thomas and William out of ye interest and profitts of ye foure hundred pounds hereby I have given and bequeathed to my said sons) my Executrix educatinge Mayteyninge and breedeinge them with and sufficient meate drinke lodgeinge Apparell and all other necessaryes convenient and necessary for maintenance and likewise bringinge them to schoole And allsoe I Give and bequeath to my lovinge Sister Mary Lane of Loughton in the county of Bucks The deede of Gifet made (by my brother in law John Lane of all his goods Chattlells moveables and personall estate) to mee the said Robert Travell by his deede Poll beareinge date the fourth of January in the yeare of Our Lord God 1658: for the use of my said Sister Mary and her two chilldren Richard and Elizabeth As by the said deede Poll (relation beinge had thereunto) more at large it doth and may Appeare. Now my will true intent and meaneinge is That my said Sister Mary Lane Shall enjoy the benefit of the said goods and Personalle estate made over to mee by virtue of the said Deede Poll for her maintenance duringe her naturall life; And after her decease the benefit of the said Personall estate to remaine and bee for the use of her two Children Richard and Elizabeth their Executors administrators or Assigns for ever. Shee or they payinge the Trust Summe of foure pounds ten shillings of Lawfull money of England unto my Sister Alice Penn her Executors administrators or Assigns within Six months next after my decease And allsoe I doe make constitute and ordeyne my lovinge brother in lawes the before mentioned Thomas and William Earle Overseers of this my last will and Testament whom I entreate to bee aydeinge and assistinge to my Executrix in the performance of this my will And in the educateinge and bringeing up of my two sons Thomas and John and for their care and paynes therein I give and bequeath unto each of them five Shillings a piece of Lawful English money to buy them gloves to paid by my Executrix within a month after my decease And all the rest of my goods chattels moneyes and personall estate unbequeathed (my debts and legacies beinge paid and funeral expences discharged) I Give and bequeath unto my lovinge wife Helen Travell (whom I ordeyne and Appoint sole Executrix of this my last will and testament) In wittnes whereof I the said Robert Travell have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and year first above written.
