In the Name of God Amen the 3rd day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and in the twelfth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord William the third by the Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith &c I Mark Travell of Castlethrop in the County of Bucks yeoman being but indifferent in body but of Sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be therefore given to Almighty God for the Same and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield unto death when it Shall please God to call and being desirous to settle my worldly goods in order do make and ordain my last will and Testament in manner and forme following; first and principally I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker and to Jesus Christ my Redeemer, and my body I commit to the Earth from whence it came to be buried in decent and Christian manner as to my Executrix hereafter named Shall seem convenient And as touching all Such temperall Estate of goods lands Chattells and Moneys as the Lord hath been pleased to bestow upon me I do order give bequeath and dispose the Same in manner and forme following: Item give and bequeath all those three closes of pasture ground with the appurtenances Containing by Estimation in all Seaven acres be the Same more or less lying and being in the parish of Hanslope in the County of Bucks aforesaid one close called the Leys and one close called by the name of Parkwell close and the other Close called by the name of Harriwell Close next after the death and decease of me and my wife Mary unto my Brother Henry Travell and to his heirs and assigns forever, to hold the said three Closes with their appurtenances to said Henry Travell and his heirs Assigns for ever Item I give and bequeath unto my Cozen William Rawlings and to his heirs and Assigns forever all that one acre of arable land lying together on a furlong called Mill furlong in the parish fields of Throp in the County of Bucks aforesaid To hold the said acre of land with the appurtenances after the decease of me and my wife Mary to the said William Rawlings and to his heirs and Assignes for ever Item I give and bequeath all that my messuage or tenement with the close thereunto adjoining and belonging with their appurtenances Scituate lying and being in the parish of Castlethrop in the County of Bucks aforesaid and all that close of pasture ground called Acreridge with the appurtenances lying and being in the parish of Hanslop aforesaid containing by Estimation half an acre be the Same more or less and also all the four and thirty acres of arable land and hades be the Same more or less with their appurtenances lying and being in the parish and fields of Hanslop and Castlethorpe in the County of Bucks aforesaid after the death and decease of me and my wife unto my two brothers William Travell and Mattias Travell jointly and seaverally to their heirs and assignes for ever To have and to hold the said Messuages Tenement thre closes of pasture ground four and thirty acres of arable land leys and hades with their and every of the eight members and appurtenances unto the said William Travell [Matthias] Travell jointly and severally and to their heirs and assignes forever to be divided share and share alike by and between my said two Brother William and Matthias proportionalls alike Provided nevertheless and on Condition that my two brothers William and Matthias Travell their Executors Administrators or Assignes shall never cause to be said [such] Summe or Summes of money and of my said Messuages Those two closes of pasture ground thirty four acres of arable land leys and premisses which I shall give and bequeath unto my kindred fore named Item I give and bequeath unto my Cozen Elizabeth Travell one of my Brother Thomas Travell late deceased the Summe of thirty [pounds] of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my [brothers] William and Matthias within one year after the decease of me and my [wife] if she the said Elizabeth be then living and not else and if it please God that she the said Elizabeth dye and depart this life before said thirty pounds becomes due and leaves no issue on her body lawfully begotten lo id That then I give and bequeath unto my Sister Mary Travell her mother third part of the said thirty pounds above given at the time aforesaid She be then living if not the legacy to fall Item I give and bequeath unto my Cozen Mary Meritt and to her heirs and Assignes twenty [pounds] like lawfull money of England to be paid within Six months after [my] death and decease of me and my wife; And also all my ma.… I give and bequeath unto her the Said Mary Meritt after the death of my wife Item I give and bequeath unto my Cozen Elizabeth Rawlings her heirs and Assignes Ten pounds of like lawfull money of England to be paid within one year after the death and decease of me and my wife And if it shall happen that any of my heires Shall not be paid at the time herein mentioned and according to this my will that then and in Such case it shall .. and …ing be Lawfull legarses of this my will for Such of my legatees to entering into and upon the said Messuage or Tenement Closes of pasture Thirty four acres of arable land and premises with their and every of their appurtenance to receive the issues and profitts thereof until Such time as the said legacy Shall be fully Satisfied and paid Item I give and bequeath unto my wellbeloved wife Mary all the rents issue and profitts of all my said lands Tenements and premisses with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances there unto belonging above given and bequeathed She making no destruction upon the wood and trees grazing upon the Same land also I give unto her my Said wife all my personall Estate right and Creditt during all the times and terme of her naturall life, And I do hereby make and ordain my said wellbeloved wife Mary full and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament She paying all my debts and funeral Charges In Wittnesse whereof to this my last Will and Testament I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written The mark of Mark Travell Signed and Sealed and published as my last Will and Testament in the presence of us Thomas Cooke The marke of John Hines Chr: Ellis
