Marke Parrat 1673

In the name of God Amen, I Marke Parrat of Castell Thrope in the County of Bucks Husbandman being sick in body but of perfect memory praised be God doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in forme and manner following. And first I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God, trusting through the merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Redeemer and Saviour, to have free Remission of all my sinnes. And my body I commend to the earth whereof it was made, and to be decently buryed in the churchyard of Castel Thorpe aforesaid. And all the Goods and Estate which ye Lord of his mercy hath bestowed upon me I give and bequeath as followeth. ffirst I make my three daughters following Martha, Alice and Sarah Parrat Joynt Executrixes, to whom I give devise and bequeath the house wherein I dwell in Castle Thorpe scituate betwixt a little house of mine now or late in the tennre of John Vans upon ye East side, and having the grounds of John Johnson on the South side and I likewise give to ye said Martha Alice and Sarah all my outward goods, as horse beasts carts plows, wood, hay and corne and peas and what there is else of outward goods to be equally amongst them divided; together with one Acre of Arable Lands lying in Askip furlong having ye Land of John Parrat on ye East side and of Thomas Parrat on the South. Item I give to my three other daughters Elizabeth, Mary and Anne Parrat a little house of mine now or of Late in ye occupation of John Vans equally among them. As also one halfe acre in Black ground furlong lying in the Neither field in Castel Thorpe aforesaid; and likewise two halfe Acrees more butting against Pond Close, and one halfe acre in Bullington end field, the Land of John Cook on ye South side and Christopher Ellis on ye North, the profit or profits of which is to be equally divided among the said three fore mentioned sisters. And as for my inward goods brasse, bedding, &c I doe give and appoint that my sixe daughters shall have every one an equall portion. Item I give to my Kinsman John Parrat my best Coat and my best breeches. Item I give to my brother William Parrat one shilling. Item all ye rest of my goods, Chattel and Chattels whatsoever and not herein bequeathed, my Legacys herein given and my funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath Joyntly to my three daughters Executrixes. And I revoke all former Wills and bequests. And I intreat and appoint Richard Milles & Thomas Nicholls to be overseer of this my last Will and Testament. In witnesse whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale, this thirteenth day of October in ye yeare one thousand sixe hundred seventy and two and in the yeare of our Sovereigne Lord King Charles ye second King of England, Scotland, ffrance and Ireland &c twenty fourth
